Here’s a quick study of some popular sites into what units they use to specify font sizes, widths etc.

This list was compiled using the element inspector in Firefox, or having a cursory look over the css for the site. It may not 100% accurate
Interesting to note that Richard Rutter himself no longer favours the Richard Rutter Method of Font-Sizing.
